During the eve the whole family would gather around and enjoy a hearty steamboat feast and loads and loads of dishes to fill the table to the rim until there were no more space for more cultery. I remember the adults were busiest, preparing food, eating, laughing, playing cards and talking about the happenings during the year and catching up on lots of things. We kids would had always secured good seats in front of the TV and watched the night of celebrations unfolds. In my memories, these things were very grand..and a must-watch.
It's been v long since I last celebrated CNY with the big family and felt really at home.. there's always been insecurities that gives me the feeling of wander and drift. Sth will always be changed, that I have realised, which was the sacrifice one has to make, leaving the place where he or she used to belong.
Now, this year's CNY is sth different. I find myself much more enthu and involved that I have no mood for school and everythin else. We got to revamp the house and purchased some new furnitures, which in general made the house more homely. It begin to feel like home..
Eve
I helped to prepare some of the dishes..I would agree it was a good feast and a workout too.
1st
Went to my mother's friend's place at Little India to Bai Nian..
2nd
Stay home and Bao JiaoZi...It was quite a tiring job which we had to made quite alot in order to give to our neighbours and store some surplus for later. I was the one bao-ing most of the time as no one else is free.
Soon, the festivity will die down and it's back into work work and more work mode. Only wish that this year will be a good year for all..good health and good life..
Loves to everyone that I am missing..and happy New Year!
